This multimedia event celebrates the completion and the on line presentation of a year-long leadership training project carried out by Chicano/Latino youth attending West, Horizonte, Highland, and Ames public schools in the 2010-2011 school year
The project guided high-school age youth to use oral histories and photographs to document the lives of leaders in Utah’s Chicano/Latino community Nineteen students participated They conducted more than a dozen, intimate oral history interviews of selected leaders, which will now be available on line Featured speaker at this event will be Utah State Representative Angela Romero, former Utah Third District Juvenile Court Judge Andrew Valdez, and Salt Lake Community College student Aura Gutierrez Latinos In Action (LIA) will give a dance performance
The public is welcome Refreshments will be served
